Land & Legacy is a 501(c)3 charitable organization organized with three primary purposes:
We aim to further public understanding of land conservation issues and ensure that the United States continues to boast wide swaths of undeveloped land that promotes healthy and sustainable habitats for local plants and wildlife.
As part of this mission, we believe in sharing the ideology behind ethical hunting, a driving force in land and wildlife preservation today. Ethical hunting involves respect for the natural environment, humane sporting methods, and generous use of any harvest gleaned thereof. The passion for hunting in our country runs deep, and the desire to preserve sportsmanship opportunities for generations to come is an important factor our mission.
In countries across the globe, but with particular success in Subsaharan Africa, ethical hunting and land preservation go hand in hand. Tourism dollars related to hunting support communities and help government and private organizations alike enhance the health of our natural environments. At Land & Legacy, we follow the same course, beginning in South Dakota. We believe that preserving our natural resources is a crucial responsibility and imperative for any global citizen.
By dedicating our charitable organization to land and wildlife conservation with a link to ethical hunting and sustainable wildlife management and harvesting practices, we believe that we can make a considerable impact in preserving South Dakota’s native birds, mammals, insects, plants, and more.
The United States has long been a country known for its untouched beauty, its wide-open prairies, and its adventurous spirit. In accordance with these values and our appreciation for the natural environment, Land & Legacy stands out as a charitable organization focused on enhancing South Dakota’s land preservation efforts so that many generations to come can experience our beautiful state in the same way it was created.
Natural resources in our country are in danger. Here at Land & Legacy, we are dedicated to preserving and maintaining the natural flora and fauna of the American West and Midwest. But we need your help to have the most impact.
